Are the stories written by AI?
No. Every story in Dovorite Chronicles is written by a human author. The AI acts as your dungeon master — it narrates scenes, reacts to your actions, calls for dice rolls, and tracks your inventory and health — but the underlying story structure and chapters are created by human writers.
Is Dovorite Chronicles free to play?
Yes. Dovorite is free to start — it includes a tutorial adventure and the Princess & Ronin starter story, full character creation, dice rolling, and Arena combat. A $8.50/month Library Pass subscription unlocks all 50+ stories, multiplayer hosting, open-world mode, and AI scene artwork. A $599 lifetime option is also available.
How does the AI dungeon master work?
Dovorite uses GPT-5 as its primary dungeon master and Gemini 2.5 Flash as a fast fallback, so responses arrive in under ten seconds. The AI narrates the scene, reacts to your typed or spoken actions, calls for dice rolls with stat modifiers, and updates your inventory, health, gold, and equipment automatically from the narrative.
Can I play Dovorite Chronicles on mobile?
Yes. There is a native iOS and Android app built with Expo (package com.dovorite.chronicles) that shares the same account and backend as the web app at dovorite.com. Start a story on one device and continue on the other.
Can I play multiplayer with friends?
Yes. Premium subscribers can host real-time multiplayer parties of 2–6 players with turn-based action, a shared AI-narrated story timeline, and a 4-digit join code. Free players can join a friend's hosted party.
What is Hardcore Mode?
Hardcore Mode increases the lethality of encounters and enables permanent death — if your character dies, they are gone forever with no resurrection option. It is available to Library Pass subscribers and is optional.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed through PayPal. You can cancel your Dovorite Library Pass at any time from your PayPal account under subscriptions. Access continues until the end of the current billing period.
