- Account information: username, optional email address, and an optional password hash.
- Gameplay data: character stats, inventory, health, game session history, story progress, and ratings.
- Technical data: IP address, device type, browser type, and session identifiers.
- Optional phone number: only if you opt in to SMS notifications; stored and used solely to send game updates per your consent.
- Payment data: PayPal transaction and subscription IDs used to verify purchases. We do not store full payment card details.
How We Use Your Information
- To authenticate your account and maintain your game session.
- To send your typed game actions to OpenAI's API so the AI dungeon master can generate narrative responses.
- To send optional SMS notifications if you have opted in.
- To verify subscription and lifetime-access purchases via PayPal.
- To improve the Service, detect abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
- To display advertisements via Google AdSense on the free tier.
Third-Party Services
- OpenAI — game actions are sent to OpenAI's API to generate AI dungeon master narratives.
- Google AdSense & Analytics — used for ad display and usage analytics on the web app.
- PayPal — payment processing and subscription management.
- Twilio — optional SMS messaging (only if you opt in).
- Expo Push Service — push notifications for the mobile app (only if you enable them).
Data Retention & Your Rights
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing dovoritechronicles@gmail.com. We will delete your data within 30 days of a verified request. You may also opt out of SMS at any time by replying STOP to any message.
Security
We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit and at rest. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and are never stored in plaintext.
Children
Dovorite Chronicles is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from users under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy occasionally. We will notify users of material changes via the app or email where applicable. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
